My second off-topic conference in 4 weeks

I'm on the ground in Boston. Tomorrow is the first day of my first DrupalCon. I've come here, in part, because I convinced myself that it would be a good precursor to my thesis research later in the year, as I'm going to need social access to the Drupal community in order to do my research.

In reality, though, I'm hear for two reasons, neither related to my academics.
1. My employer paid for a good chunk of the trip, after I convinced them (correctly) that my week here will more than pay for itself in increased output in the next few months.
2. I'm hooked on Drupal. I don't know if I've ever been into a software/technology quite this much... I just love it, and I've barely worked with it at all yet. So a part of me hopes this gets me started on a Drupal career of some sort (albeit a part-time one, juggled with school and other interests), beyond my current job.

I'm also using this trip to take one last stab at Twitter, to see if it's actually got some value. So far it's still just annoying me.

My other goal is to actually blog a bit from this conference. As opposed to my last conference, Make Your Media Matter, at which I took 10 pages of notes and then failed to post a timely blog about it.
